In the spirit of missing several birthday updates, even though this isn't much, I'll announce the first team for Season 4. Woo! This team was fun to write in the AFFR Rejects and has a lot of potential here on the race both based on skills and interest. So here they are, your first team: Seifer and Edea: Knight/Sorceress.

This . . . hmm. I'm not sure what to think. I think they could go far, but we'll have to see, especially since technically, Edea isn't a sorceress anymore.

Yay! I get to nerd out about someone else's fanfic for a change!
I quite like this team, in concept. The question is how well they'll do in practice, given that their rejected audition tape showed them to not mesh very well together. Hopefully they've improved since then and will have better team unity which, I think, will be one of their shortcomings. This is another one of those teams where neither individual is perfect, but both racers manage to cover for each others weaknesses, so that the team as a whole has no major flaws. But like I said, it's going to come down to how well they work together.

To be honest, this team was not on the original roster of teams, THEN it became Cid/Edea, THEN it became Seifer/Edea. At this point, I have no idea how well they'll work together, but I figure the Rejects is a sign that it won't be perfectly, though it could still be pretty good. Kinda depends how submissive Seifer is, I think.

To be honest, this team was not on the original roster of teams, THEN it became Cid/Edea, THEN it became Seifer/Edea. You honestly should've done Cid & Edea. Seifer & Edea make ZERO sense together, especially if they're written as AFTER FF8's events have happened. If during, then maybe. But if after, then no. But in any case, it's been nearly three weeks, Bob. Next?

They still make some sense even after the events, what with any of the orphans making sense with Edea, plus having the history. I ended up making the switch for two reasons. For one, I have another Cid planned and don't want it confusing, but even more than that, my other reason is that Seifer has more characterization than Cid in that game. Cid COULD be fun though since I think he'd have quite the temper, what with his mouthing off to NORG and all, but I think Seifer will be fun.
I'm trying to put together a New Year's update, even though I desperately need to be planning for work, but I'm still deciding if that update will include a reveal. We shall see.

Sure, why not! Another team announcement + rejects kinda update! This team was one considered last season and it'll happen this time. I've always considered them, but had a few hangups, those mostly being that using Strago/Relm first season seemed like a bad idea with the underage-ness (which I've come to just ignore now) and the biggest being that you really don't see Galuf and Krile together very often, so I've always been deciding between Butz and Galuf or Krile and Galuf. So, without further ado...Galuf/Krile: Grandfather/granddaughter!

Yeah, we don't see them together often, but I think we see them just enough to get what kind of vibe they have between each other, so I approve!
I definitely like this one a lot better than the first one! They could go far, since both are well-traveled and generally smart. But there'll be the matter of Galuf's age, I think.

This weekend will be one. It's Finals right now. I'm going to do a Team Announcement to celebrate the end of the semester (also too busy right now...stupid kids and their "can I take a test now and turn in allll my homework late to save my terrible, un-savable grade?")

In the spirit of completing one full semester of teaching and going through the pure frustration of "WHY ARE SO MANY OF YOU PASSING MY CLASS WHEN YOU HAD A 50% AVERAGE ON THE FINAL! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME LOOK BAD!!!!" and looking at my gradebooks and deciding if I'm one of those teachers that bumps kids to the next grade because they give me the puppy-dog eyes, I've decided it's time to take a break from all the crap and do a team announcement! This team went back and forth all the time. I was like, "let's do Snow and Serah! Engaged couple!" then I was like "well, sisters might be fun, so how about Lightning and Serah!" and I kept flipping back and forth between the two. And then, I thought about the combination I wasn't making. It was kind of a joke, but then I got to thinking about the team and how fun they'd be to write, plus how they really might be a solid pair of competitors. And so, without further ado... Snow and Lightning: Future In-Laws!

Wow, that's . . . hmm. An interesting choice. I'd much rather have seen either one of them with Serah, but we'll see how they work in practice.

This is a good combo! Super physical, super argumentative! They'll probably have the most interesting dynamic of the three teams so far.

I dedicate this...to me! Teeeeam Announcement! And by the way, if you didn't notice my update, you'll see that I'm planning a "Team Announcement or Rejects" update for all the weeks leading up to the premiere of the season. Still a ways to go, plus I'm sure a few of the updates won't fall on exactly the Sunday mark, but that's the current estimate. This team...is controversial, I know. I've started writing the episodes and I'm liking them though. I considered Zidane and Kuja, but...I don't think they'd work too well together. Plus, we know little of their interaction. I also considered Seymour and Trommel, but who really wants to race with ol' Trommel? He'd PROBABLY die if he had to bend over ever. And so, the first mixed team since Season 1 emerged. They're pretty similar in nature, plus...I mean, look at those faces. They were meant to be together! And so, we have Kuja & Seymour: Genocidal Maniacs!
