I have different numbers for a few of my dudes. I haven't been checking updates, so I'm not sure where the disconnect came in, but I have: Orlandu - 4 Galuf - 8 Kadowaki - 8 Amarant - 4 *sigh* Yeah, you're right on all counts. I forgot to switch out Galuf and Dr. K in goal last round, so their numbers are all messed up. Also I must have subtracted wrong in the past few rounds, which explains the Du and the Rant. I suck at numbers (and life.)

Amarant disapproves of "the Rant." The Du also disapproves of "the Rant."

I apologize to the Du. I do not apologize to Amarant.

Round 8 simmed! Typing with baby, so pardon shorthand. Line-ups by Wed-ish, ja?
SPOILERS:
New leader! Lots of positions changed! TME vs LO will determine Top 3 alone (since GB are bound to beat BA). Pressure = on.

After all the suspense, Round 9 is complete, as is the league! I'll have up the tournament bracket in a moment. Remember: we're doing a double-elimination, so this'll be different. I figure once the first brackets are up, I should have time Wednesday night to upload, so we'll start the tournament then-ish. Sorry again for all the delays. Near Finals are always a busy time, but now with baby it's busy x2. But next week should be good since it's actual finals, so aside from a bit of grading early in the week, I'll have a bit more time later in the week (and then winter break--woo!).
SPOILERS:
Congrats to The Mad Experiments! First league win ever! Followed by the Grizzlies, who like to stay up top, but were knocked down a peg. Loveless and the Goers tied for third, but the Goer tendency for scoring a hell of a lot of points pushed Loveless to #4. Magic Missiles were pretty darn close, too! Had a loss been made a tie, they'd be tied for third, too, but alas, they are a clear fifth.

BTW, the tournament bracket is up, so check it out and submit line-ups when ready. Good news: nobody's playing themselves in the first round (which doesn't REALLY matter in this double-elimination format anyway, but a nice perk). Also good news: this looks like a lot of fun--more fun than a normal tournament. It has TWO brackets! Oooh!
And I'm up against Fleck in the first round...twice! Bring it! Huuuuurrrraaaaaahhhhhh!

This is interesting actually, because all of the top 6 teams are pretty close in a lot of ways - The Nightshades only lost the same amount of times as TME, and some of their draws could easily have become wins. And as you said, MAG having one loss become a draw would have shifted them from 5th to 3rd. Only the Mercs, SM7 and GW seem to be looking shaky after the tournament. One good thing for me, is that it's a double elimination tournament. I'm GUARANTEED to have a team play more than one game this time, which will be a first

Looks good! I've got a question about Matchup I in the bracket. The existence of a bracket beyond the finals seems to suggest that the tournament isn't over until everyone has lost twice except for the winning team. Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like the winner of the losers bracket will come back to the finals, and then if the losers win the finals, the tourney will be extended another game. Am I right or stupid? (probably stupid.)
I'll have everyone's stamina up tomorrow evening, by the way.

So, not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but Bob - are you going to be able to do a fifth league? If you're super busy, that would make perfect sense if you couldn't... BUT, if we are doing a fifth league, I'll be excited to see how things go...
And on that note, I was telling one of our new friends, Richie, who digs FF in general and who, in his words, 'played the shit out of' blitzball, and he wanted to know whether he might be able to join in the upcoming league. I told him that it probably shouldn't be an issue, as long as he's able to not hold things up, and he ensured me that he wouldn't (and I didn't really suspect he would, as he's got some degree of free time compared to AJ). If all y'all are cool with it, I'd be happy to mix things up just a little more - I suggest that if he wants to come in soft with one team for his first league, we could in theory replace the Aurochs, who are essentially just a free week, or whatnot. Then again, he might wanna do two teams. Who knows? What I DO know is that if it works for you guys, he's got a fair deal of time during the tournament to read up on things, and he would be a fresh challenge.
