Cheers Bob! That's why I chose them as such, keep things interesting. If I get bored of one character, I can focus on another that's totally different for awhile Amy, I suggest you watch Advent Children again and check out this finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Loz. The final fantasy wiki is the first place I go to when I character i've never heard of starts being played by someone! Mainly wyvern's ladies. It's also good if I forget the name of someone in the character's backstory, and makes me look clever for including obscure references

XP I'm well familiar with Final Fantasy Wiki; I just wanted an excuse to watch the movie again and get expression screencaps. Thanks though! I've got a pretty good idea of him already; now I just need to set it up sometime. I use it for weird characters too, like people I've never fought or NPCs I may use...

No, it's helpeed me a lot! I have only played VII, remember, so I only get some of the references like oglops through that site.

Yeah, I can imagine! I've played more or less all of the flagship titles now, excluding 1 and 2, so I get most of the references people make, but to be honest I forget a lot of things. I was trying to remember what Yunalesca was actually like after Bob started playing her, and I can't remember for the life of me. Only thing I remember is that she tried to kill me, and was a surprisingly tough boss! Mass zombification+life spell spam makes me a sad panda.

Whoa whoa whoa, she summons a zombie army?! COOL! Nobody mentioned the undead!

I edit over at the Final Fantasy Wiki, though I haven't been on there lately. Keep meaning to get my butt back over there. I've mainly been updating their information about Final Fantasy: Unlimited. (Which, I would not be surprised to learn if nobody on this site other than me has watched.)

I saw a bit of it! I don't know names or plot, but I saw a bit! That guy in the white is really cool-looking.

I got the first two episodes of it on DVD cheaply when bought with something else on amazon, so I watched those. I'm not normally one for anime though.

When I was deciding on my two characters, I went to the FF Wiki to first see if I was forgetting any other characters. THEN I read about them cuz even though I've played the FFs a lot, I forget things or miss things.
Side note: Fleck was telling me about how much more interesting FF8 is when you understand what's happened, and at his demand, I looked up NORG (seemed fitting). NORG is a really awesome guy, and in FF8, you don't really GET it on a few superficial playthroughs. About all I ever knew was that he was in charge of the Gardens and didn't like Headmaster Cid and I had to fight him at one point... That was about it. But FF Wiki tells a LOT more than that.
Back to characters though, Yunalesca was my first pick for a new character because when it comes to bit characters, it's easy to find a game script online and read all their parts (ctrl+f "yunalesca" to get ALL of her lines on an FFX script"). Pair that with some youtube "Let's Play Final Fantasy X" and you know all there is to know about Yunalesca. I picked her because I loved how her conversation with the main characters was soooo black and white.
Yunalesca: Pick somebody to be the final aeon. The Guys: Will it kill Sin? Yunalesca: No. But do it. The Guys: Oh, then no thanks. We'll find a way to KILL Sin. Yunalesca: There isn't one. The Guys: We'll find one. Yunalesca: THERE ISN'T ONE. The Guys: Sorry for wasting your time. Yunalesca: MAKE THE FINAL AEON, MAKE SIN GO AWAY, DIE FOR HOPE, CONTINUE THE CYCLE! The Guys: No, thanks. Yunalesca: EAT MEDUSA HEAD!!! (this is where she attacks you and always kills you on your first attempt unless you have a strategy guide and know that you instant lose on her third form without a zombied character)
Anyway, that's why I decided to pick her. She doesn't believe in gray area. There is only one correct answer to any given question.
She doesn't exactly summon a zombie army though. She turns all your guys into zombie status (well, the ones that are out at the time anyway). Then she typically casts regen on them, so they hurt. And it makes your brain go "Oh cool, I just cure zombie and now I have regen!" and then she goes into form 3 and immediately uses the instant death to all attack, so all non-zombied party members (all of them) die.... Yay!

Yunalesca ranks highly as one of the most nasty non-sidequest bosses in all the games from FF6 onwards I'd say. I'm currently playing through FF5 for the first time, and damn some of those bosses are hard! I eventually had to concede and make a white mage (I was trying to avoid conventional classes as much as possible), but things still hurt me. However others are complete garbage as bosses, the difficulty curve is very strange!
I like that reasoning for picking her Bob. Makes for some fun role playing - she's a lot like a female Squall really, except she can be agreeable if people flatter her.

The final fantasy wiki is the first place I go to when I character i've never heard of starts being played by someone! Mainly wyvern's ladies. Good times - Little known fact, it's also the first place I went in order to find out enough to work with for Chime and Mira, because I haven't played either of those yet... Perhaps when I finally get home... :-P

Question then Wyvern - what made you choose those characters in the first place, if you hadn't played the games they were in? I'm interested, I don't think I could play a character without having seen them in a game so I could understand them and their context better.
