Yeah don't be too surprised if I'm not posting for a little while after Sunday, I'll be addicted to Spore and be playing at every opportunity most likely.

Not to be too much of a nitpicky person, NS, but why is it that every time you incorporate another character into the Mallboro universe, they are, like, as f-ed up as possible? Are you that cynical about everything? I don't think you are, based on my general impressions, but it's like everyone's a slut or a complete and total wreck of an individual...
...My fear is that this is your interpretation of humor, which may just be one of the more alarming thoughts I've had in a while....
Just to simplify-- If I were to list all the people you've dragged in that haven't seemed OOC, I would be having a really hard time finding any, and that destroys the 'believeability' of the whole thing...
Sorry if that seems harsh. Maybe I shouldn't try to help at 1AM...but still, please don't just ignore all that...

I think the issue is not that he brings in a lot of crazy, kinda effed up versions of these characters, but since he's one of the only ones doing it and since he brings in a lot, it just kinda makes the whole world seem crazy and effed up. Perhaps the rest of us should just introduce more normalish characters

Well, both-perhaps-in better balance...

Perhaps each of us should introduce an NPC in our characters daily lives, such as people they keep in contact with. It's not as if the only people they see are in the mall.

Meh, it's however you wanna play it. I use the occasional NPC, but not too many, and I'm content with that. Just play how you will. The issue is just that if NobodySpecial introduces a bunch of characters then we won't be left with a ton to choose from, y'know? 'Specially since he tends toward female characters, which are rare in FFs anyway. If he introduces a character, we all should continue the characterization he's established. So if he introduces say, Tifa, and he decides that she is an alcoholic lesbian on acid, then it wouldn't make sense if I did a post about the completely normal, sane, angelic Tifa.
But he can continue this; it's in his rights as a player. I think Wyvern was just trying to say (forgive me if I'm wrong) that he's introducing a lot of characters (female specifically) and making them kinda crazy, then abandoning them to take more... It just might eventually lead to his characterizing the entire FF cast as the same crazy-acting person and not allowing any of us to use our own unique brand of characterization.
....sorry if that was a long, repetitive explanation. Just sayin', the moral is to play how you want, just be aware of other players and their potential desires for NPCs. In another RP I played in a long time ago, this same thing was common. Some players would pick up several NPCs and give them a certain personality-type, then release them to the public, but we're all like "Umm, I don't want to use ___ now that you've made him a narcoleptic retard..."

Pretty Much. I mean, all my characters are from IX, and now if I even wanna mention Garnet, I've gotta work around her being an apparent slut, which is just about the farthest from her actual character as I could imagine, and that rots, 'cause she's one of the few main female characters I actually liked...Eh.

If things get too out of control, we can always just have a "Crisis on Infinite Mallboros" and reset the personalties of all the NPCs.
If it's good enough for DC, then it's good enough for me.

Of course, there's always the cop-out "Oh, that's the OTHER Garnet".

Haha, parallel universes!
I'm still perfectly fine with Mallboro and the NPCs, so we'll just wait until it becomes more of an issue (if it even does). To play in an RP you kinda have to know that abrupt character changes come sometimes. Like if somebody wanted to play Garnet, they wouldn't have to adhere to the Garnet we've made... So whatever. Just change a character if you need to...

Hey, Wyvern. How're things going at school nowadays? The activities slowin' down enough to jump back into Mallboro?

Almost! I added another class, but I'm getting into the swing of things---this last weekend was my 1-yr anniv., so I'm a little behind on everything, but I'm starting to pick up rhythm again...Soon.
