I was wondering why I never saw any shots of 100 by now, but I didn't think about it to hard. I generally read the shots of other teams through all their games before I play them, but I otherwise don't read the whole things (I don't even read play-by-play for mine), and some of the mechanics are beyond me anyway, so it's fruitless... but I did think that was odd. Dunno why I didn't think it odd enough to comment though :\ Sorry.
Also, are pass-chain bonuses a thing, because I can't rememberhow that discussion played out.

It's cool, guys. It's my fault. When dealing with such big numbers, it's hard to see a Shot Bonus in effect. Should've noticed with MAG though, since they build massive bonuses. That's why Rinoa was my tip-off. I knew she was a forward, and though I've been very good about not looking at stats, I know I've seen her make a goal with no bonus at all, so no chance of a SHT of 3. So don't feel bad, just don't hate me for screwing up Yeah, Shot Bonus, if I remember right, is that you get +1 for each tackle you survive or each person that "gets a hand on it" without stopping it. Then, I believe it's +3 for a successful pass. So a team like MAG that is like, pass pass pass pass pass is VERY good about building chains quickly. I love that it finally looks like it works, because I KNEW it should've worked in theory. I'm really hoping they do well in the tournament, but they're in a tight spot playing the #1 seed first.

First game of the tournament is simmed. Results are here: forum.goatpen.org/Blitzball/Tournament03/ Remember: I'll sim matches as soon as possible, just send me your line-ups. SPOILERS: Two teams with, I think, a similar dynamic went head-to-head. Both have big shooters and big defenders. Today, the Mercs wanted it more. Last tournament, the Guests knocked out the Mercs, plus the Guests beat them this season by a single point, so this was a grudge match for the Mercs. In tournaments, the Mercs have always been good at upsets. Go Mercs!

Posted up LO v MAG and GB v SM7. Both good games!
SPOILERS:
Sorry, Count, but again, your teams don't make the finals. I think you could've done better if you'd known how to use MAG properly, so that's a bit on me. Still, both of your teams put up one hell of a fight. I think Jecht needs to lower his risk. He had the ball enough to have won, but he took shots that my goalie caught, which turned over the ball instead of locking in a point. And MAG just needs some tuning. Still, it was dicey for a minute there! You gave Loveless a run for their money!
EDIT SPOILERS:
Also simmed up MRC vs GB since...y'know. Mine. First game was super points. 10 to 10! But jerks had to tie, so in the re-sim, the Mercs take it. Good for...me? Not sure which way I wanted it to go. Grizzlies were kinda crippled. Still are, Stamina-wise. Orlandu needed a rest, which never bodes well. Not sure how rested the Mercs are. Gonna get my Finals line-ups together and hope to have decent players in the finals.
Good luck, remaining teams!

NS vs TME is up!
SPOILERS:
Onto the Semifinals! NS forfeited, basically, so we have Loveless vs Mad Experiments. I've already simmed Mercenaries vs Grizzly Bears, so just waiting to see which of LO and TME will face which of my two teams. Mercs wait in the finals and Grizzlies in the loser's cup.

And out of nowhere, the Mercs pull off their surprise upset and deny the unbeatable Loveless of their final victory! I didn't see that one coming. Maybe in the next tournament, at least one of my teams will break their habit of never making it past the quarterfinals

I know, I was very surprised. The Mercs were one of the few teams to keep their team well rested, but I was nervous because I pulled Tseng in favor of Elena (Elena's good for the Relay formation) because Tseng only had 2 stamina, so it was either Elena in center + Relay formation, or Tseng in center and maybe Normal or Jecht formation.
Eager to sim the 3rd place though. Wyvern, got time for the line-ups?

Yeah, as Bob and I were talking about on IM, Loveless was gassed by the end of the tournament and I needed to rest both Lightning and Genesis, so 2/3 of my offense was gone. Meanwhile, Mercs were rested and ready to kick ass. I'm probably the only one here who wasn't surprised by this outcome.
Once we get the final round simmed, I wanna start talking about the fourth season. Not necessarily starting the fourth season, but talking about it at least.

Tournament is over! Last game is simmed!
SPOILERS:
That was a good game...for the first half. And then TME forgot to show up for the second half. My guess? Orlandu killed them all in the locker room. Or maybe they remembered they were against Auron and cried through the second half. Who knows. Anyway, good games, ya'll!
So...comments on a fourth league?
