Howdy all!
I just wanted to poke my head out of the weeds a bit to see how things are going. I'm really itching to start blitzing again, but I'm still strapped for time (plus, learning all this java really makes my coding fingers all twitchy-like with wanting to reprogram the whole thing in a new language, but now's not the time). Just thought I'd see how everybody else was doing and see your thoughts on when we'll start up a league and who's interested. For me, I'd probably be looking sometime in 2015, but probably pretty early in 2015. Almost New Year's, but not quite. Early January at least.
Anybody interested in firing things up around then? And maybe if I have time over Thanksgiving break or Christmas break, I'll look into a few program mods or something, though right now it'd probably be sticking to what we already have. But we've GOT to take the title back from the SubMags! All this time, Jecht has been just raving about being the best! You know that part in FFX where you can learn the Jecht Shot? That's just floating around the blitz stadium lately! "You can't do it, kid!" "I'm the best!"

Count me in for that! Would Java be any better than c++ for coding it in though? I mean, I'm a big java person, but I don't think there's any practical reason to recode it other than for shits and giggles

Not really any reason, but the method I used in C++ would be a lot better as Java because of the object-oriented program. I could've programmed all those properties into individual Player objects instead of making all the weird stuff. But I don't think it'd have much effect, unless I could finally find a way to make it connect to the internet so that I could remove my own role from the program, but that'd probably be a long time in the future just to figure out how to do it, which means it likely will never happen. But hey, I can dream

I'd be happy to play at any time, although if the programming would cause the season to be delayed further, maybe we could do one last season with the old system before switching over (would programming the new version be the kind of thing that you could do during a season with the old version, or is that too time-demanding?)

At this point I don't intend to change the code, I just might at some point. But yeah, we'll use same program when we restart in January-ish.
