Since we seem to have seen the analyses for all of the FF games so far, might we post suggestions for other games for Bob to analyze? Because I think there are plenty that are worth an analysis.
I'm already gonna throw my lot in and hope Bob analyzes Xenogears. The game sounded interesting when Bob used it in his most recent AFFR season, but I know nothing of the story or characters, but he does, so I'd like to see it analyzed.

I've actually considered doing that one, I just haven't gotten around to it. So it's on the ideas floor. Any other ideas?

A lot of the classic SNES RPGs I love wouldn't be great for True Cast (Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, etc), but I should be able to think of a few. I think Tales of Symphonia would lend itself nicely to analysis, if Bob's played that. That game has a LOT going on with many characters having their relationships to each-other and the plot often not revealed until near the end.

Problem is, a lot of classic SNES games aren't many characters. Secret of Mana, for example, only has three, none of whom even have default names. They're not really characters so much. Kiiiinda, but not much. Secret of Evermore has only two characters, and one of them is a dog. Woof.
I haven't played Tales of Symphonia, no. Maybe I will someday, but haven't thus far.
I think one of my biggest TCs will be Chrono Cross with its...48 characters, I think? Though, I'd probably just analyze those that aren't Unnecessary since only maybe 10 are even halfway worthwhile, if I recall correctly.
And hell no am I ever doing Suikoden. 108 characters is insanity, plus barely any of them mattered at all (and I haven't played it in years and didn't really like it a lot, so I don't care to play again any time soon). It had a few things going for it, but I just have no drive to do it.
I'll likely do many of the Breath of Fire games someday. I'd need to replay BoF3 again and play through BoF4, but I can probably do BoF 1 and 2 easily enough.

I'd have suggestions, but you pretty much did all the True Casts I'd be interested in seeing. Aside from FF, the only games I can think of that I'd want to see a TC for are Chrono Trigger and Star Ocean 3... both of which you already did. All my other suggestions would be kinda silly and pointless.

Yeah, things like Secret of Evermore may be bloody fantastic games, but bad for True Cast. The other Star Oceans might be interesting, especially because the first 2 have a lot of tertiary characters, with only 2 or 3 that can be considered true cast. Star Ocean 4 would be good too, as it's got a fairly even mix of true, secondary, and unnecessary cast IMO, with around 3 in each.
The Breath of Fire games would be a good choice too, as you said. I've only really played 3 and 4, and I really remember very little about 4 on the whole. I like that 3 has a lot of characters who go their separate ways and then come back when they're relevant to the plot again though; it seems a bit more realistic. Skies of Arcadia would be good too!

I DO plan to get/play Star Ocean 4 one day. I've seen it used at Game Stop for like $18, which is totally in my price range! Never played Star Ocean 1 or 2. I think I downloaded them in the past, but I played one of them for maybe 20 minutes, wasn't into it (might've just not been in the mood for an RPG, which happens) and....I dunno. Probably deleted it. Let's say deleted it, because that's the LEGAL thing to do! Yep, deleted the sucker within 24 hours, as emulator law states! *nod* EDIT: In looking through my SNES library, I'm realizing that SNES was still generally the days of not-many-character RPGs. Generally blank characters to be played as "boy" or "girl." "Tough guy" or "mage." Stuff like that. But one game that is totally on the list now.....Mario frickin' RPG! One of the better RPGs ever made, so it totally deserves a True Cast! Even IF it makes me totally sad since I think some of my favs would be UC, like Geno.

I was wandering Youtube a while back and I found one of those Let's Play for SMRPG. It was made by some douchebag who talks a lot and makes really bad jokes (like 99% of Let's Play videos on Youtube). I had to quit watching because:
A: The asshole was a moron and couldn't even figure out how to leave Mario's Pad.
B: Once he figured it out, he couldn't figure out that he needed to go to the ONLY OTHER LOCATION AVAILABLE and he instead kept returning to Mario's Pad to wander around aimlessly and bitch.
C: He kept going to sleep over and over because he thought it was supposed to trigger a cutscene. After all, Toad did say "Go to sleep if you want to recover HP" so OBVIOUSLY that means that he's commanding you to go to sleep and the game won't advance until you do.
D: He was one of those douchebags who has to read everything on the screen, but his reading comprehension level is somewhere at the elementary school level, with him one step above sounding out the big words.
E: Ten minutes into the video, he's still wandering his retarded ass around Mario's Pad, bitching and making bad jokes.
F: He then goes on to complain that it's a bad game, and HOARDS of people in the comments agree with him.
Attention people born in the 1990's. This is why I hate you all. Seriously, go get fucked. Every last one of you. Just go now. Get fucked. Go.

Oh dear, I gotta say I hate Lets Plays like that. Many LPs are bad, but it's even worse when it's someone who flat out doesn't 'get' the game in question. I can fully imagine someone of only 15 or so doing an LP of FF7, and bitching the whole way about the graphics, and how 'gay' the whole bit in Wall Market is.
Usually I won't even bother with a Let's Play unless I already know the person doing it is funny. For example, the LoadingReadyRun comedy group's main two guys did a Let's Play of the first 2 hours or so of a PS2 RPG called Legaia, and it was pretty funny. The only reason I gave it a chance was because I think their scripted comedy is pretty funny and clever, and hoped that they were able to still be funny when it's more improvised. They were, although they were smart enough to choose an RPG that while wasn't bad, had plenty to poke fun out of.
I was going to say that I couldn't believe the comments agreed with him about Super Mario RPG being crap, but then I remembered this was on youtube.

Wait, you can leave Mario's Pad!? I thought that was the whole game! Well damn. Now it's not as good a game. 0/10 for being able to leave Mario's Pad.

Months later, I'm ready to throw out the Dragon Quest games. Particularly 8 and 9, since they're from Square.

I'd like to give the Dragon Quest games a play one of these days. I hear they're really good. If I have time this summer and I've worked down my laundry list of games to play, then I'll likely give 'em a shot. My "to play" queue is a lot shorter than it was though. A couple Kingdom Hearts games, three Star Oceans, and...I THINK that's it! Then I get to buy games again! Woo!
