Okay, I've reconsidered. Anybody looking to simulate their own matches, look no further! I've decided to distribute the Arena program, at least here on the forums for now. So here it is! arena.goatpen.org/downloads/Arena.zipI'm highly considering changing this thing in a few ways, so be prepared. I have this feeling that defense needs to be increased or HP needs to be increased (but leaning toward defense). So I might include a few new armors or boost up the abilities of armors so far. I tested a couple of my characters against each other and found that there were many one-or-two hit kills, which...isn't good. Sure, sometimes that's how a character is built, buuuut it isn't very exciting to see a character you worked hard on fall in a single blow. So anybody using this program, please give feedback if you also would like the defense values of armors increased. Also, please let me know any errors you find, like, for instance, I just found that my alchemy items like Chocobo Feather wasn't fully gambit-proofed, so the character will continue to use it over and over and over (that's fixed now though). Let me know if you need any help. There's a howto file in the zip, so read that first and foremost. Good luck, everybody (probably just Count and Wyvern)!

Hmm, yeah, definitely need to up the defense. I'm going to add more defense to existing armors and such and I'll post the revised program when I do, plus give a head's up to those that might want to change, but I have a couple characters that are slaughtering others in a hit, which makes for some pretty boring fighting. I'm likely going to perhaps double all of the armor values, or maybe just multiply them all by two. Either way, it's going to make armor stronger. Keep that in mind, especially all you nude fighters!

The thing is my characters want the shiny accessories... but then can't afford armor.

Yeah, makes sense. This program IS all about balance. It's just such a risk because VIT*DEF = your defense, so even if your VIT is amazing, your total defense is crap. But, if your accessories prevent you from getting the crap beat out of you, then who needs armor?

Yeah, it's kinda cool that you can choose to specialise with a good weapon and accessory and try for the quick kill, or play it safe, get some armour and settle for a weaker accessory and weapon. I like the whole balance thing we have. But armour does need improving. Seriously. Most of my fights are kinda fair, except for when Beatrix gets involved. Dear God the slaughter. You know how in FF9 she can take you out in one hit if she feels like it, and just toys with you the rest of the time? It's like that, only without the toying

By the way, dance seems to do bugger all Maybe it's good with the swords dance thing, but most of the time it does 1hp damage or 1mp damage. About the only time it's handy is when it confuses or something. Is it based on magic power? Edit: It probably was, since she had magic break on her.

"_________ dances the Wiznaibus. Cecil loses 196 HP."
It can do more. Yeah, it's based on magic. I should've mentioned that on the Abilities page. Sword Dance is based on STR, but the rest is MAG. Sword Dance, btw, is awesome. It's 3x damage, but since it's random and other things rely on magic, it doesn't pop up often. I do need to power up the Witch Hunt though. Even with good magic power it still does 1 MP, which is pointless. Dance and Sing are most beneficial when fighting with/against groups.
(and yeah, I'm leaving the identity of that dancer blank, because I MIGHT use him/her as an NPC)
EDIT: Yes, Magic Break would do it.

New version for ya'll to download, if you're downloading things. There was a fatal error with Chakra, but it has been fixed. As has Pray, which likely had the same error.
