Alchemilla FTL again! They're gearing up for a Dahlia elimination, but I'm hoping for Claudia. Well, I actually kind of hope that Dahlia uses Claudia as a human shield at some point. BUT KEEP MY HEATHER! She's quickly climbing the ranks as my favorite.
Y'know, if you like Survivor, I do recommend "I Love Money." It's the VH1 ghetto-version of Survivor. Has a lot of the same elements to it, only more boobies and stupidity. I recommend Season 2 highly. In that season, these guys form a strong alliance with like, maybe 1/3 of the cast, but they aren't very secretive about it, so one guy wisely realizes that 2/3 > 1/3 and he basically unites the rest of the house against them. It's...kind of awesome. But anyway, that show is great because of the stupidity (though I'm sure Survivor has its fair share, too). They tend to vote people off because they were drunk (with power? no, alcohol) and were manipulated. It's one of those guilty pleasures.
Anywho, can't wait for next week! Who goes home? NOT HEATHER! *shakes fist*

Heather? Really? I guess I'm glad that you like a character that I wasn't expecting you to like. For me, I'm still trying to figure her out. I want her to be one of the more intelligent players, but at the same time, I have to remember that she's only 17, and in a fairly emotional situation, what with her father being dead/right next to her and being on the same team as her mother and the person who indirectly murdered her father. I have a fairly complex backstory for her, but I haven't really thought of her as one of my stronger characters yet.
And umm... "ghetto Survivor" is... uh... not the magic phrase that sparks my interest. Most of the time, I get bored by the petty squabbles and pissiness that occasionally happens in Survivor. I watch for the intelligent stuff, so saying "this show is Survivor, without the intelligent stuff," is probably the best way to ensure that I won't watch.

I dunno, something about Heather. I like that she's not super smart, but not stupid. She's doing a good job of keeping her head down, plus I like the interactions with Harry. There are other characters that I like, some from both sides, but I'm not entirely sure who I like best, I just know Heather is up there. I like Dahlia from a "love to hate" perspective, too, so I'm kinda hoping she tosses out Claudia to save her ass (if needed). Claudia hasn't struck me yet. I think I like Heather because she's one of the better ones that I can actually support, as opposed to "I like Henry because he's dumb--durr."
Yeah, I suppose I Love Money wouldn't be your favorite then, but I know a lot of the structure of Survivor because I Love Money is almost "I Love" Survivor. The challenge this time reminded me of ILM because it was somewhat relay related (which they do sometimes) and all the ILM challenges are somehow related to something that happened on one of the "of Love" shows. Also, in ILM they talk similar strategy since they team up at first, then merge toward the end. I'm mostly bringing it up because I think I know more Survivor than I think because of this show, even though they're not the same.
One cool aspect to ILM is that the winning team chooses who goes home from their opposition, but the other team has to vote for a "bottom three" that the other team's captain gets to send packing. It adds a fun dynamic because they often will "pad the bottom three." So if there's somebody that a team wants gone, they'll stick two of their absolute worst players in the bottom three so that the other person has really no choice but to get rid of the strong person the team wants gone. There's strategy to it, plus Season 2's Counter-Alliance was absolute badass.

Oh, forgot to mention: new SSH.
I guess you guys can count on me updating every Friday night at midnight, unless I say otherwise. So won't bother mentioning updates here anymore, unless I have something to say.
I'm particularly curious about what you guys think about this part. Character relationships/plans/motivations are starting to get more complicated, so I'm either on the right track here, or I'm totally ruining everything.

Well, I mean, hey, Survivor: Silent Hill is already cribbing from The Amazing Final Fantasy Race, so why don't I just go whole hog and rip off everything from Bob's site? Instead of a Final Fantasy-themed site, I can have a Silent Hill-themed site! Yeah! I bet it'll be great! On second thought.... maybe not.

By the way, Photoshop question! Is there a way to make transparent PNG images that matte to black (or any other color)? They always seem to default to white, and I can't figure out how to change that. I can do it for GIFs, BUT SCREW GIFS.

I'm not sure. I can do it for GIFs, but I don't know PNG. I deal in jpg and gif, generally gif because it's easy. I'll look around next time I'm using Photoshop, but I think your best bet is asking Google.

D-D-D-D-DOUBLE UPDATE COMBO! 2x points! New high score! I ended up getting a little ahead on the writing, and instead of adding to my buffer, I decided to just post twice this week. Since I'm not really concerned with traffic right now, there's no real reason to spread this out any thinner than I have to. So from now on, if I have an extra parts ready, I'll just put them up instead of trying to make a buffer. If you normally view my site by going to the homepage, you may want to skip directly to the SSH page, since Ep3 Part3 is on the main page right now. You wouldn't want any ACCIDENTAL SPOILERS, would you? Linkage: dar-sar.blogspot.com/p/survivor-sh.htmlAnyway, Episode 3 really got away from me somehow. It took a turn for the serious about halfway in. I don't particularly care for the way it turned out. Hopefully things will go back to normal after this, because this wasn't terribly enjoyable for me to write. Granted it's not like this episode was Days of Our Lives or anything, but it was much more melodramatic than I want this series to be. The show's already more serious than I originally intended, and to BAM KICK IT UP ANOTHER NOTCH is just one notch too high for me. I know my two regular readers/responders are off doing things that would embarrass their parents (if their parents knew), so I'll just sit here and twiddle my thumbs until they get back.

O questionable Forum God, I speak to thee from Spain! I got Internet access for a bit, so I thought I'd come on here and make you feel a little less hornless.
That being said, I won't be reading your new SSH episodes yet, so the thumb twiddling may continue. I don't have the time right now and I'm on a Mac, which activates a few of my vomitous anti-hipster reactions as it is. I kinda forgot about part 1 of episode 3 as well, as I forgot about you saying that all updates happen on Sundays so you needn't tell us, but now you say they'll be ready when they're ready. Y U SO CONFUSING FLECK!? It's a ploy isn't it? A ploy to increase the number of hits your website gets by getting me and Bob to randomly access the website to check if there's a new episode. I know your game!
