And now I've read it! Loving it now that we've had a challenge. Too bad I'm not really sure who I'm rooting for. Brookhaven has more people that I like, but Alchemilla has a couple that I like a lot, so...I'm torn!!!

Nope, it's AIDS. Seriously though, I enjoyed reading it, particularly the task at the graveyard. And I'm rooting for James currently as he's the only guy I really know, so Brookhaven all the way! ...Plus that's the only hospital I know too XD They do seem better equipped though, smarter on the whole, and have Walter doing the physical work, so long as they can stop him turning on them. Alchemilla has Eddie and Angela, which is already a pretty big hindrance. I'd like to see more of those little introspections from the characters about the events that are happening. I find it breaks the story up quite nicely and stops it from being just overly long amounts of text for the most part. It's nice to know what each character is thinking at the time, which helps especially for characters I'm not familiar with, as it tells me a lot more about their personality than their actions. I think having more of them will also provide a little more insight into characters' relationships with eachother without requiring a whole lot of text to do so, especially in the case of characters who tend not to speak their mind. In short, more character introspectives! But otherwise, good stuff!

Yay! Glad you liked it.
Yeah, finding the perfect ratio between exposition and interviews (the "introspections") is one of the biggest challenges I'm facing. My first draft of part 1 had a much, much higher ratio of interviews versus exposition and it was extremely choppy and disorienting, because it would switch back and forth between the descriptions and the character thoughts rapidly and simply got to be too much. It works on Survivor the show, because they can show events while having a character do a voice-over, but I can't do that in text, so it didn't work. So I toned it back and yeah, I probably toned it back a little too much. HOWEVER! Most of the exposition takes place in episode 1. After all, once I've described everything, I don't need to describe it again. So from episode 2 onward, there will be a heavier focus on the characters, their relationships, and probably a higher ratio of interviews as well. Thanks for reading, and your continued input keeps me from taking a swan-dive off the roof.

Haha, no problem. And sorry if my terminology's a bit off, I've never actually watched survivor, I'm allergic to reality TV I kinda like some of the concepts of shows like Survivor, but normally the contestants are just a bunch of douchebags that I just want to fail, so I don't really feel invested in them At least when you do it with Silent Hill and Bob does his Amazing FF race, I feel invested in the characters. I'm kinda behind on AFFR3, and by kinda I mean very. As I've said before, I tend to not read things in episodic format until it's all ready. I try to keep up, but when I miss one, I start dodging the forums about it in order to avoid spoilers, and then end up falling more behind XD

I literally only JUST started watching Survivor at the beginning of June, and only as research for this project. I've caught the most recent three seasons (Heroes vs. Villains, Nicaragua, and Redemption Island) and have become quite interested in the show. If you can spare the time, I highly, highly recommend the Heroes vs Villains season; it's easily the best of the three I've seen.
Anyway, I shall make a decree! There shall be no discussion of SSH outside of this thread here (not even in my Announcement thread either). That way Count and others don't have to hide under a rock in order to avoid spoilers.
Also you should be reading AFFR, you naughty boy. It's almost done! The epic finale! The grand conclusion! THE END! How can you pass that up?

Oo, maybe I should start catching up now then! Then by the time I'm done it'll all be finished! And then I won't be a sad panda.

Hell, it's technically Saturday here in Central Time Zone, I've got a fully completed and edited Episode 1 Part 3 just sitting on my laptop giving me sad puppy eyes... so why the hell not just post it?
WHY THE HELL NOT INDEED?
Episode 1 Part 3 now online. SOMEONE GETS VOTED OFF OMG! Find out who!
It's the biggest part so far, slightly edging out part 1 in word count. I now realize my folly in ending part 2 right after the challenge instead of at the end of Day 2. Now I've got a slightly truncated part 2 and a beastly part 3. Sorry about that. Learning curve and all. I hope you like it anyway, even though it's long enough to qualify as a novelette on its own.

Heh, that happens a lot with AFFR. It's why I always like to write the whole episode in one shot, but...doesn't always work out like I want. Sometimes, I just might find, I get what I need.
I'll read it shortly! I'm trying to finish my re-review of FF13, then it's off to SSH! WOO!

Strike that...DAMN I'm tired. This whole "doing friggin everything" is tiring. Single moms, I have lived as you for a day and a half....SORT OF. Your lives suck. You win.
Will finish my re-review tomorrow and read SSH, despite being really damn busy tomorrow. I WILL FIND TIME FOR FUN!

Once again, it's technically Saturday so, have some SSH!
A couple of new graphics this time around. The addition of the Water Prison required a new banner, and I decided to make a banner for challenges too. I don't like either as much as my original Cult banners (man, I love that spiderweb effect), but both are serviceable for now, I guess. Also the title GIF has been altered to reflect the changes from last episode. Eddie is no longer in the "Alchemilla" section, but has been booted to the Water Prison section. It's not a huge change, but Survivor does that with their intros, so I figured I should do it for mine as well.
This part is waaaaay heavy on the Brookhaven. Stuff happened and then more stuff happened, and before I knew it, I was already pushing 7K words and I'd barely mentioned Alchemilla at all. There was going to be another Alchemilla section near the end, but it was cut for length. Wasn't terribly important anyway, and the more important details have been moved to the beginning of part 2 (which I am already well into). I know I promised shorter episodes, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen until I start eliminating people. So this is probably going to be the average length of parts until we cross episode 3 and beyond. Probably won't be a noticeable size difference until episode 6 or 7.
Anyway, lots of plotting and scheming now. The game is getting going. Post your theories! Analyze character's plans! LOVE ME PLEASE!
