Commentary:
"Well... fuck" is right. Loveless and GW were in good position to stay out of each others hair in the playoffs, but I didn't expect GW to win out their last two games. And now I'm in a conundrum. Had this situation arisen last season, there's no question that I would have sacrificed GW for the sake of keeping Loveless strong into the second and third rounds. But this season LO and GW are even with a perfectly mediocre 3-3-3 record, and I honestly don't know who I want to win. My gut tells me that Loveless is still the better team, despite what their record says, but GW has pulled out some surprising upsets this season. So I'm going to play this round straight and whichever team wins, wins.

That's what I did with the last tournament. GB were the top dogs, but I figured if the Mercs can beat 'em, then I wanted them in the finals. Granted, that didn't work out for me since both teams lost, but still, it makes sense to do that.
GB kinda suck like that though. They have some great offense, and great defense, but nobody that acts as a bridge. Their offense knows how to shoot. That's about it. Their defense can steal the ball, but that's about it. I shouldn't have pulled Duncan out, but I wanted him rested for the tournament. So now I know that they BADLY need a better back-up defender. Two of their losses this season now have been when I've pulled a defender to rest.

Whoa, I'm in for a tough start this tournament! I think that the chances are I won't be making it out of the gates here MAG definitely have a better chance against the Grizzlies than SM7 though - with SM7 i tried to beat them at their own game, but they just weren't manly enough, and lost even harder!

Well, Count, in MY opinion, I think I should go head-to-head with both of your teams. Based on goal differential, TME played a better game, arguably, so I think SM7 should be the 8th seed and go up against Mercs. I think I'm gonna make that change, unless there are objections? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
EDIT: I made the switch (but can still switch it back) because I think it'd make one hell of a tough road for the Mercs. Or...hell, EVERYBODY. Check this out.
Mercs vs SM7: 4-4 tie Mercs vs Loveless: 0-0 tie Mercs vs Guests: 1-1 tie SM7 vs Loveless: 2-2 tie
I think moving in SM7 makes for the most interesting top bracket as far as grudge matches. MRC vs SM7 will be a grudge match. If MRC wins, it'll be a grudge match against either LO or GW. If SM7 wins, it'll be a grudge match against LO (if LO wins).
Point is, top bracket = rematch bracket. Time to break some damn ties! Who's with me!? Come on! Hurrrrrraaaaaahhhhhh!!!!
Moral to the story: TME played better than SM7 and deserves the #7 spot, plus it'd be fun to see SM7 in the top bracket.

I'm for it, if only because we should stick to goal differentials. If this is the lineup suggested according to points and GD, then that's the lineup we should go with.

Okay, peeps! Try to get those line-ups in soon! I'll sim matches as they come in, meaning when I have Wyvern's, we'll sim his and when I have Count's, we'll sim his (I have my line-ups ready). Didn't even notice that Wyvern's against himself. Dang. This tournament didn't turn out as ideally as it was looking in Round 8.
I'M READY! I'M PUMPED! I'VE ALREADY SIMMED LO vs GW AND IT'S A GOOD MATCH! I WANNA POST IT UP FOR YA'LL!
Speaking of that... Especially in the case of a tournament, would you like me to post up results as soon as I have them? Since Fleck's playing with himself and sent me his teams, he's ready, so I can post them up. Wyvern's playing with himself, too, so again, results can go up immediately. Should I just post results as soon as I have both sides? Tournaments are great suspense and all, but I like them to move quickly, too. Anticipating the new season, plus it's no fun when somebody gets knocked out early...LIKE I'M TOTALLY GOING TO DO TO COUNT! BOOYAH! ...I'm actually kind of afraid of Count's teams. MAG are not to be taken lightly, and SM7 tied Mercs last time. Gulp! But THIS time, I'm not going to leave a side wide open for Jecht like before! He and Laguna just walked through my right side alllll game long. BUT NOT TODAY!
...My wife does not understand my obsession with Blitzball, so I have to rant on here because Bob = pumped!

Posted, biznatch. Spoilers: Notice two games were needed. They were pretty evenly matched. Interesting results. Somewhat surprising, but hey, they had the same record, so not too surprising. Now I've gotta watch out for Larsa in the next round...if I make it past Jecht!

Well, these are not the droids I was looking for. But they're still good droids, I think. This season has not been kind to LO's offense, so I doubt they would have gotten much further anyway. And now that I know that Larsa in Center = Victory, I think my chances with GW this tourney are pretty decent.

Two more games simmed. Just waiting on Wyvern v. Wyvern.
Spoilers:
Sorry, Count. I knocked both your teams out in round one. The Mercenary victory was fairly obvious since you had to play a second-string goalie. The Grizzlies had a tougher fight though. Seriously, I fear MAG next round. Once you fix your goalie and toss some more Golden Arms and maybe a couple Volley Shots on your forwards, they'll be fearful. I saw Aeris with a shot of 32, which doesn't mean much to you, but being that it was due to a 20 point shot bonus, I'm guessing Count will be kinda shocked.
Fleck. Guests. Bring it. I'll sim when you're ready. I'm getting the MRCs ready now.

Simmed and uploaded! I'll be on spontaneously today, but if you (Fleck and Wyvern) submit line-ups, I'll sim games as soon as I can. My teams are ready to go. Let's DO THIS!

Got NS vs GB simmed! Check the site for the results...or read my spoilers below.
Spoilers:
It was a good game and ultimately, I'm SO glad that I left Orlandu in the mix. He was at 3 stamina, so I figured I'd either put him in now, or in the finals, but couldn't do both. Now I just hope I don't need him in the finals, because it was his two points that got the Grizzlies the game, knocking NS out of the top two for the first time ever (I'm counting them as #2 in the league because Goers don't really count). I'm proud of those Grizzlies. When they're on, they're good. When they're off, they suck. Come on, just one more game, Grizzlies! To the finals, to either play Mercs or Guests! Whoever advances, the Grizzlies owe them for the league, since Grizzlies lost to both in the league!

MRC vs GW simmed!
Spoilers:
That...was a good game. First game ends in a damn tie: 2-2. And the second one favors Mercs alllllll the way through...until GW takes the lead and wins. Sunnovabitch. Gaf took too many high-risk shots and turned over the ball too fast instead of just getting closer and making the shot. I went into that game thinking, "Hey, even if I leave Larsa undefended, that means Gaf is undefended, and he can out-shoot Larsa. Which is true, unless Gaf shoots from the friggin center line every single time and doesn't wait for a Worker 8 bonus! Grrr!
But yeah, awesome game to read. Now my only chance at the title is with Grizzlies! Come onnnn Grizzlies! The Guests upset you in the league, so now time to upset them in the tournament!
Match being simmed in a few minutes because I have the information!
EDIT: And now the final match has been simmed! Just waiting on third place with MRC vs NS and then we can start leveling up our dudes (though you should probably wait because I'm working on V5 of the program).
Final match spoilers:
Auron and Alma, sitting in a tree. K-I-C-K-I-N-G. First comes tackle, then comes steal, then comes...nothing. It just happens again. So basically, the game has some events in the first half, then Auron v. Alma. Then, second half stuff happens, then Auron v. Alma again. They kiiiinda made the match not too thrilling. Most interesting part of the match: GALUF scored a goal! You'll note he's a GOALIE. Not my best goalie as I kinda hid Dr. Kadowaki all league long. She's a better goalie, but Galuf has better all-rounder kind of stats, so he was often there for the stat boost. But for solid goalies, Kadowak takes the cake.
Still, kinda awesome to see the Guests in the finals. Funny how the top two seeds are battling in the runner-up tournament!
Hooray for me! Winning at my own game! Now to see if I can get third, too! *pats self on back* I'll mention program changes when I implement them and allow you guys to give feedback before we start next league. But for now, gotta see who comes in third! Come onnnn Mercs!
