I had a big ol' post written earlier, but the Internet crashed during posting and I lost it all. God I hate that. Now, I will summarize those thoughts! I say keep arena as is, I don't much like the idea of sharing equipment or BP or whatever, as it'll lead to possible exploiting and characters could lose their uniqueness in combat styles. Also against blitzball clans, just seems like a bad idea to me, I like having the freedom to swap and hire new players, and clan blitzball would go against that. However, clans could be used to pool their TT cards, perhaps so that if there's a quest involving beating a very skilled (read: has good cards) player in order to progress, a clan could work together by giving the best cards from their pool in order to overcome this particular challenge. Also, chocobos and blitzball could easily be incorporated into quests. Some areas could only be accessible by riders with a racing skill of x or higher, and only those that qualify could explore this alternative route. Similarly, flooded areas could only be passed by people with a blitzball level of x or above. You could also have a situation like a group of boulders are blocking an underwater passage, and only 3 people with a blitzball level of 15 or higher working together could take it out, but then after that the passage could be used by people with a blitzball level of 10 or more. Whatever seems interesting! Also, had an idea for the arena to make sure some weaker characters get the boost they need - some areas could require a maximum level limit, say 18 or 20 right now, of the 3 combined fighters, which would force the stronger players to team up with the weaker ones, so nobody levels too fast. If a squad of jecht/loz/laguna were to start running around, they'd obliterate the competition in no time I expect

Heh, stop it stop it stop it! You're gonna spoil everything! All the stuff you're talking about with quests IS already involved, you just haven't GOTTEN there yet! Spoiler alerts on yourselves! But yeah, I'm for Clans in general, but not for sharing much Arena or Blitz stuff. I'm kind of thinking clans should be limited to small groups, perhaps only 3 per clan. That way, if you just wanted to sign up "Clan X" for a Hunt, you don't need every member of that Clan saying "I'll do it!" As far as capping the groups, that does help somewhat, but actually the way EXP works here, a group of low-levels would gain more EXP than high-levels, assuming they, y'know, win. All characters gain the same EXP amounts though, it just changes the amount if your group is on a lower average level (more EXP) or a higher average level (less EXP). Oh, but one thing I was thinking regarding Arena-use with clans is that if people won any of the special accessories, I could either do two things. 1, you can trade your special accessories among your clan or 2 (the more likely option), your entire clan gains the item. To remind you, the special accessories are like the Champion Belt, Chocobo Feather, stuff like that. We haven't used any yet, but we will soon. Accessories gained through mini-games where only one person (or clan) has them at any one time.

Clans limited to three people? Then what's the point? Sure, it makes the number work easier, but how much of an advantage will you gain if you only have three people? I'd say you gotta have at least five people in the clan before you start seeing any benefits of having a clan at all. There needs to be diversity and you won't really get that with a low cap.

Maybe, but we also don't have many players. I'm remembering the old Grind stuff though and how we had several clans of only like, 1 or 2 people, then a couple with a ton. I think the benefits of clans would need to be clear before we really talk about whether or not clans should be limited and such. Because if there are certain benefits, then I think a lot of people would prefer to be in one gigantic clan. So maybe 3 is too low, but it can't be a huge number or suddenly we'll lose individuality. If we're free to trade Triple Triad cards, then why not all be in one clan and have ALL cards?
Not trying to discourage the clans thing, I'm just reminding about the last type of clan and saying that I think we need a maximum (and possibly a minimum, though I think the minimum would probably just be 2, because otherwise it's just...you).

I'm just arguing for a number bigger than three, that's all.

Awww I'm so glad to know you guys care about finding Juice I'm sorry I've been gone so much lately, but it's just so gosh darn difficult to get on the computer for more than 5 minutes at a time lately! Wow, I'm so behind on Mallboro that it feels like such a chore trying to catch up completely! So I suppose I'll just skim around and see the big things I missed *shifty eyes*. I'll start by thinking about the changes mentioned in this post and putting in some input. And supplying you all with rope and my whereabouts. (PS it's my house right now).

Does this mean we're getting a Juice back? Because yay!
We can postpone this Arena tournament until you get back, if you'd like. Until your characters are no longer.....missing. Dang, where'd they go!?

DOWN AND B DOESN'T WORK IN THE LATER GAMES!
You better be goddamn sure this is red/blue, because maybe not even a master ball could catch Juice. DON'T FAIL US OAK!
I'd be more than happy to postpone the tournament for as long as necessary if Juice wants in on the action, since at the moment is just me and bob, and chances are half my characters will be fighting my characters anyway XD
Also, don't worry Juice - while it looks like a lots happened, bugger-all's been happening post-wise lately, and I'm just starting to get my groove back again. All you really missed was a hunt, which we all failed anyway XD

Ooooh a tournament, I do like me some of those. When were you guys planning on starting? I could try to get back in to it a little faster. It's like, you know when you stop doing something, and then when you start again you feel like you're so far behind that it seems like it'd take too much effort to get caught back up? But in reality it wouldn't really and you're just psyching yourself out? Yeah, I kinda feel... that right now But WORRY NOT! For uhm... something. Oh yeah, I should have some free time to lounge around and read some posts or the rest of this particular forum on MONDAY! I'll try not to spend all my spare time playing Maplestory.... but sooo addicting *_* er, what I mean to say is... you guys rock! And now, I disappear again! (but only to work this time, not for like a month and a half).

Tournament was going to start last Friday, but only Count and I have signed up, so we're postponing until we get a few more entrants. So we'll at least wait for you, Juice! Skullboy, Amy, either of you interested in entering the tournament? Not an obligation or anything, but mostly just wanting a confirmation that you're not wanting to enter so that we know whether or not to wait for you or just start (though right now we're waiting anyway). The more people the better though, so we're definitely willing to wait And Juice, you don't know it, but I tied an invisible leash around your neck so that if you go too far, I can still pull you back in! So don't wander too far, or else! ...I have a leash like that on Fleck, but that's because he's into that kind of thing.

No. Sorry, Bob. I don't like trying to figure out new wonky systems that I'll have to learn and then won't ever need again.
Also, I have no inclination to join this week's event at all, for the above reason.
