Fine, you win, Bob. But I'll get you next time, Goatbob! Next tiiiiime!
Also, who gives Moderator Status to a guy and then doesn't give him any mod privileges??? I was going to do a whole bunch of awesome stuff to the SSH board, until I found out that wait, I don't have any mod powers here. What's the point then? GRAAA!
Count: Updates are still going to be every Saturday (usually Friday night at midnight my time). I'm not going to just put up new parts whenever they're done. I'm just saying that if I have two parts done on Friday, like I did this week, I'll post both of them instead of holding one for next week.
There's no technical reason for me to maintain a strict schedule, but I'm doing it to A: get in the habit of having an update schedule, and B: making it easier for you guys to keep track of my updates. If I updated sporadically, then if you guys got busy or couldn't get to my update for a couple of days, then things might get hectic. This way, you'll know when to expect new parts and how many parts you're missing if you're gone for an extended period. Like I said, it's not really important right now, but I'm doing it anyway.

You have no mod powers? Then seriously, what DOES it do? Maybe you can just edit/remove people's posts or something? *shrug* If you have any banners or something to put up, I guess just PM them to me. I never really know what effects my mod powers have, including granting somebody else mod powers.
I'll catch up on SSH tomorrow. Tonight I'm kinda sleepy and such, so probably a bad idea to try to read anything.

I spent some time roaming around and, as far as I can tell, I'm a mod on this board in name only. Seriously, I have no options/powers that I don't have as a regular member. I can only modify my own stuff.

A new record! Episode 4 Part 1 is the shortest SSH part so far, by quite a wide margin. It's less than half what most of my episodes are, but with Lisa quitting and there being no Water Prison challenge makes it so that there's only so much I can write about. I considered loading the episode up with filler and exploring the characters' relationships more, but I think characters are getting developed well enough as it is, and adding filler content would just make the episode feel pointless. So you guys get a short episode. And also the Intro GIF is shorter too, with two permanent eliminations. Shortness everywhere!

Woo! Read 'em now! A little sad to see Walter go, but so long as the Water Prison challenges continue to be physical in nature he should stand a strong chance, assuming he's able to out-muscle Travis. Walter seems like the strongest and ballsiest in the game by a fair margin, but I really can't tell how smart he is. He doesn't strike me as stupid by any means and is probably smarter than Travis in many ways, but I'm not sure that he could stand up to a more high-calibre thinker like Kaufmann, should it come to that. So long as Walter has challenges that don't suit his opponents' strengths, he could survive the entire Water Prison.
I was personally hoping that Cybil would get voted out though. Douglas is a nice bloke, and he doesn't seem to be a drag on the team, whereas Cybil, despite being probably the single strongest player on Brookhaven now (speed, skill, and above average strength and intellect), is becoming more of a pain. She's becoming exactly like Kaufmann was before he lost Lisa, only not quite as abrasive to the others. I wouldn't be surprised for her to be voted out before the merge, as she might become too strong an individual otherwise. As for the 1 vote for Cybil, it most likely came from Walter, but Cybil is guaranteed to assume that Kaufmann voted for her, as Cybil perceives Kaufmann to be her only enemy in the cult, although she has considerably more.
I think Elle and Eileen are doing very well for themselves. They don't really get noticed much, and they seem to be in a sort of unofficial alliance which nobody else has picked up on, thanks to there being more high-profile partnerships in Brookhaven. In Alchemilla they would probably be thrown to the dogs as you're either on one side or the other in that cult, but in Brookhaven where nobody has more than 1 trusted ally it's working out very nice for them, especially with Cybil (and by association Douglas), Kaufmann and Maria being much higher priority on the eviction list.
When does the merge occur? They say it's coming up soon, but exactly how soon? And the water prison survivor joins the merged team don't they?

This episode was by far my most "edited" episode. Not to say that I did any more editing than usual, but it's the episode where I deliberately left out a lot of details and kept things vague to make the vote that much more uncertain. I feel this episode was a bit choppier than my previous episodes, but hopefully it resulted in a more unpredictable ending. If you think I was too vague and left out something important, I'll answer any questions you may have.
I hope Cybil isn't coming off as annoying to readers. I just enjoy having a character who pushes Kaufmann's buttons. But yes, it is making Cybil a target and she is getting dragged down to Kaufmann's level with all this bickering. We'll see how it turns out for her though.
Because of Walter's reticence, I suppose I'm the only one who really knows how smart he is. The answer is "fairly." Walter's overall strategy is very reactionary and spur-of-the-moment. That isn't to say that he's impulsive, but he continues to weigh his options right until the very moment he's forced to make a choice. I literally did not decide if Walter was going to play the idol until right when Joseph asked. I figured Walter would withhold judgment on that until he was sure he either needed to play it or not. Based on the evidence so far, and the continued division in Brookhaven, it seemed smart to hold on to the idol. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
The merge occurs "soon." In the regular show, it generally occurs when when the combined tribes number between 8 and 14, roughly. There's 16 right now, so we're not in "it could happen any day now!" territory, but many players are already considering who would be a threat in the merge and using that to inform their decisions. And PERHAPS the Water Prison survivor will rejoin at the merge. PERHAPS.
Thanks for reading.

A good read indeed! Only problem was I spoiled myself and saw Count's post about Walter going home. Probably would've been much more over the many Douglas votes otherwise. And don't worry about the spoiler, Count, I should've been paying more attention. I was thinking this thread was more non-spoiler and the Place Yer Bets would be more spoiler, but normally I read before reading any threads regardless. I'm just so uber-stressed with school starting in a few days and not being at all prepared for it that I wasn't thinking. I'll add my thoughts about the episode at some point, but I'm too tired for now. But good episode, Fleck! My only critique (and it's likely it's because I'm tired and stressed) is that I was a little confused by the challenge. I got the rowing portion, but the alter and why it was a fish eluded me. But you'd have to ask Count if it was actually confusing. Right now pounding my face into my keyboard sounds like a great idea, so...yeah. Don't trust me!

Haha, fair enough. But don't think too hard about that challenge. It was an altar because I said so and it was a fish because I was too lazy to come up with a riddle, so I just made something up. Pretend that the altar has drawings of people fishing or something.

It's okay. We don't really have any threads about spoilers versus non-spoilers. And your first line WAS "just read the episodes," so I should've just stopped reading, but my brain is in crazy-mode. I don't fault you for it. And it was still a fun read. And I didn't have to stress about my Dougie going home!!!

Haha yeah XD He seems like a nice bloke.
Nice nugget of info, not sure if i've mentioned it before, but for those of us with PS3s or XBox's, they're releasing the Silent Hill HD collection, which is essentially Silent Hill 2+3 in HD with for a reasonable price, probably £20/$30. Pointless to those who've played the games before, but to me it seems sorta worth it. I just wish it had the first game in it as well, it'd make the purchase more justifiable. If I see it preowned someday for under £10 I'd definitely buy it though.

I heard about that, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to buy it. Twin Perfect (who have an awesome Silent Hill Youtube channel that shows what's really going on in Silent Hill) have revealed that Konami is ROYALLY screwing their voice artists for this remake. Because of his contract, the voice actor for James should be getting paid for every use of his vocals. However, Konami refuses to pay him for the re-release of Silent Hill HD, essentially voiding his contract. There was apparently a legal battle, and Konami, last I heard, was going to recast James and cut out the original voice actor, rather than pay the original his share.
I know contract battles are annoying to hear about, but that's still a dick move by Konami. And from what I hear, Konami doesn't understand Silent Hill at all. The suits in the offices are the ones who have been making all the decisions. They're the ones that thought the Silent Hill movie was a fair representation of the events of SH1 and the SH mythology (it isn't). They're also the ones who thought that all the new, American SH's are "staying faithful to the source material." They understand nothing, and they continue to screw over the original Team Silent and the crew that brought the original games to the world. Konami sucks.
End rant.
